Park Ridge IL Appliance Repair Firm Employee Creates New Group Within United Servicers Association

Park Ridge, Illinois Catie (last name intentionally withheld) is creating and going to heading up a new organization, Women In Service Excellence (WISE) within the existing United Servicers Association (USA). WISE will be assisting women in the male dominated industry of appliance repair. Some of the assistance will be in women supporting women in their current roles. WISE will also be looking for solutions to women's issues in the industry.

WISE will also be investigating scholarships for women in the industry, whether it is for the business portion of the business or for the technical and skilled trades' portion of the business.

Catie is a new board member of the United Servicers Association. This association holds the annual Appliance Safety Technical Institute (ASTI) convention to train appliance repair firms in all aspects of the business. Appliance manufacturers also attend this convention to provide technical training on their products and renew relationships they have developed with the people at the local appliance repair firms.

The 2013 convention was held the beginning of March in Orlando, Florida. At this convention, Catie was also an instructor, teaching a course on relationship building with your team / staff, and a course on how to find, hire and retain employees.
